We understand that moving can be a very hectic process. It is important for all residents to familiarize themselves with the guidelines for moving in and out of the Marlborough to ensure a smooth transition and to protect the Marlborough from any potential damage.

Marlborough Moving Guidelines

  • Please complete a Move-In/Move-Out Notification Form (pdf download available here) and email us or mail it to the address below prior to your move.

  • Moving in or out of the Marlborough should take place through the basement via the service entrance on the North side of the building, NOT through the Main Lobby.
  • Please make sure that service entrance door is closed securely when you have finished moving or are leaving the door unattended.  Absolutely no doors are to be propped open and left unattended.
  • The elevator is accessible via the basement of the building and must be lined with Elevator Pads – located next to the elevator in the basement. Please be careful using the elevator; it is a treasured piece of history for the Marlborough. Excess weight and rough treatment can cause interior damage or a breakdown, potentially taking the elevator out of service for a lengthy period.  Always utilize the Elevator Pads and if necessary, make more trips with smaller loads.
  • The basement should be used as a staging area for your move. Stack belongings in the basement first, while making sure there is room for other residents to safely get by. We ask that the elevator is loaded and unloaded in a timely fashion so others may use it.
  • Elevator pads should be removed from the elevator when moving is complete and returned promptly to the basement.
  • Moving can create a lot of trash. You are responsible for the proper disposal of all trash and the removal of large furniture.  Any costs associated with having to remove trash or larger items will be passed on to the responsible party.
  • A move-in/move-out fee of $100.00 will be applied upon the registration of each new title to cover incidental moving damage associated with Unit turnover.

Violations of these rules may result in fines. These guidelines were established to insure a moving process that is as safe and trouble-free as possible. We count on all residents for their cooperation in this matter.
