Recycling and trash receptacles are located in the basement and are for resident use only. No hazardous waste, bulky items, paint or construction material is allowed in our trash receptacles. Please visit, http://riversiderecycles.com to learn about disposal of these items.

Upon exiting the elevator, you will see multiple blue recycling bins available for use. Trash bins are located to the right and down the hall upon exiting the elevator. We encourage recycling and ask that residents observe the recycling program for newspapers, cans, glass, and plastic as provided by the City of Portland.  City of Portland recycling guidelines can be viewed at http://www.ecomaine.org/recycling-and-waste-disposal/single-sort-guide/

ALL cardboard is to be broken down and flattened prior to being placed into the recycling bins. Recycling bin lids must be kept closed. The City will only accept recycling placed into the lidded blue carts. Loose items placed next to the bins on the curb are no longer allowed.   If you have boxes that are too large to fit into the blue lidded recycling bins, you can use one of the City’s many recycling drop-off locations. All non-recyclable refuse must be securely tied in plastic bags and placed into trash bins located in the basement. Trash and/or recycling should never be left on the floor of the basement. Please do not overload the recycling or trash bins – all lids are required to be kept closed.
